This policy explains what riviot.com stores in your browser, what is optional, and how you can change your choices.
What cookies are.
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job in a different way. In this policy "cookies" means all of them.
Some are strictly necessary to run a site. Others, such as analytics and advertising cookies, are optional. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland the law says we can only use optional cookies with your consent.
What this site stores today.
riviot.com runs no advertising. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not track you across sites, so it runs without asking. We also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described below, where your cookie settings allow it. Without them, the site stores one item in your browser, and only after you make a choice about cookies.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Category | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
riviot-consent | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choices, so we do not ask again on every page | Strictly necessary | 12 months, or until you clear it |
Our host, Cloudflare, can set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from automated traffic if those protections are switched on. It does not track you across sites.
When you send a form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person sent it. It runs only on submit, and it is not used for advertising or to track you across sites.
The fonts, photos and videos on the site are served from riviot.com itself, so loading a page does not send your data to font or video services.
Signing in to the Riviot platform takes you to a separate site, which sets its own cookies to keep you signed in. Those are covered by the platform's own notice.
Optional cookies.
Optional tools load through Google Tag Manager, which sets no cookies itself and starts with every optional category switched off. It turns a tool on only when your settings allow it.
Analytics. Google Analytics shows how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive and which forms are sent. Microsoft Clarity shows how pages are used through heatmaps and recordings of visits, so we can find what is confusing or broken. Clarity masks what you type into forms, so recordings do not show it, and keeps recordings for 30 days.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Category | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart, so visits are counted once | Analytics | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps the state of a visit | Analytics | 2 years |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Recognizes a returning browser across visits | Analytics | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Joins the pages of one visit into one recording | Analytics | 1 day |
CLID | Microsoft Clarity | Recognizes a browser across sites that use Clarity | Analytics | 1 year |
MUID | Microsoft | Identifies a browser across Microsoft sites | Analytics | 1 year |
ANONCHK, MR, SM | Microsoft | Short-lived checks that support the cookies above | Analytics | From the visit to 7 days |
Marketing. We do not use any marketing or advertising tools. If we add one, we will name it and its cookies here first, and it will only run if your settings allow it. Marketing stays off for anyone whose browser sends Global Privacy Control.
Where you are asked first: in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland nothing optional runs until you choose. Elsewhere, see the next section.
How we ask for your consent.
If you visit from the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, or we cannot tell where you are, a banner asks for your choice on your first visit. "Accept all" and "Reject all" carry equal weight, and "Manage" lets you choose by category. Until you choose, only strictly necessary storage is used.
Elsewhere, including the United States, we do not show the banner. Optional categories are on unless you switch them off in cookie settings, and marketing stays off if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
We estimate where you are from your device's time zone and language settings. We do not use your location or IP address for this.
We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if the cookies we use change.
Changing your choices.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. Choose "Cookie settings" at the foot of any page, or use the button below. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block strictly necessary storage, the site cannot remember your cookie choices.
More information.
Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data, the rights you have and how to contact us. If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
This page is a placeholder before launch. The live version is written for both the UK and the US, names the data controller and legal entities, and is reviewed by a lawyer before publication.
The site sets one functional cookie, riviot-lens, which remembers whether you came to hire, to find a placement or for professional services. No analytics or advertising cookies are set before consent.
